OVERVIEW
Cute Slime USA is an Etsy shop that sells homemade slime. The shop owners were looking for a logo to represent their brand, graphics for their Etsy shop, and labels for their slime packaging.
INITIAL LOGO CONCEPTS
The client had 2 requests for the logo – to have the business name handlettered and resembling a slime texture, and to have an illustration of the US flag included. I provided the client with 4 initial logo concept sketches to choose from, all varying slightly in layout/handlettering elements. The client ended up selecting option 1 shown below.
COLOR PALETTE
I felt the color palette for the brand should be patriotic in light of the US flag that the client wanted to include in the logo, but wanted to put a more fun and playful spin on it due to the nature of the product (and handlettered elements in the logo). Instead of limiting the color palette to a classic red, white and blue, I chose to incorporate a light blue with slightly muted navy and red as secondary colors.
PACKAGING MOCKUPS
I created mockups for the packaging assets and inserted placeholder text for the side label while the client finalized this language. I also mocked up a version using a white background, but the client chose to move forward with the option using the blue background, since it was a bit more bright and colorful.
FINAL ASSETS
Final assets provided to the client were artwork for the etsy store logo & banner, and stickers that were applied to the slime containers.
